Abrasive Wheels - Portable and Bench Mounted

This course gives the learner the skills and knowledge required to select and mount and use abrasive wheels for portable, bench and pedestal grinders

By the end of this course the participants will be able to:

Identify and select abrasive wheels suitable for various tasks
Safely mount and remove abrasive wheels
Carryout pre-use and safety checks of portable, bench mounted or pedestal grinding machines
Use abrasive wheel machines to cut and prepare metal and concrete products
Use portable, bench mounted or pedestal grinding machines safely
Select and use appropriate protective equipment
Carryout operations in accordance the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations

The course consists of a mixture of classroom based tuition and practical activities
