This course aims to provide the skills and knowledge required to write permits to work for third party contractors
Objectives
By the end of this course you will be able to:
Determine when a permit to work is required
Assess their personal competence to write a permit to work depending on work activity
Recognise when circumstances are not adequate for a permit to be issued
Evaluate method statements and risk assessments provided by third parties
Complete and issue a permit to work and confirm understanding
Cancel a permit to work
Define the difference between monitoring and supervising and extend a permit to work

A classroom based course using a mixture of trainer presentation and practical exercise.
