A one day course giving an introduction to wastewater primary treatment, covering the purpose, methods, monitoring, maintenance and troubleshooting
Objectives
By the end of this course the participants will be able to:
- Explain the purpose of primary treatment including: where it fits into the overall treatment process and the implications of not achieving efficient treatment
- Discuss the principles used for primary treatment
- Describe the plant and equipment used to achieve efficient primary treatment
- Illustrate the operation and maintenance requirements including monitoring, sampling and troubleshooting
- Assess primary treatment performance

Mainly classroom based training with flipchart and practical exercises and discussion
