Installation & Exchange of Domestic Water Meters
This training course is designed to provide water industry technicians with the necessary skills and knowledge required to install exchange and read the varying types of domestic water meter.
Objectives
By the end of this course the participants will be able to:
- Determine the appropriate position for meter installation
- Recognise features of plumbing systems that might lead to erroneous meter readings
- Identify meters by their type, size and suitability
- Determine the activities required to stop the flow of water to allow metering activities to take place
- Carry out the necessary pipe cutting and jointing activities required to install internal and external meters
- Exchange internal and external meters
- Read and interpret information from meters
- Carryout metering activities in accordance with relevant hygiene and safety policies
Method
A mixture of practical activities supported with trainer presentation and exercises.
