Objectives
By the end of this course the participants will be able to:
- Describe the differing sources from which water is abstracted for drinking purposes
- List the different substances and contaminants that need to be removed from water
- Describe in simple terms the different processes involved in the water treatment and conditioning process
- Recognise the main components of treatment works
Method
The course consists of mainly classroom based activities. Where appropriate in can be coupled with visits to operational treatment works
